Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
Allora i ministri di Davide gli giurarono: źTu non uscirai pi¨ con noi a combattere e non spegnerai la lampada d'Israele╗.
And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
Poi tutto il popolo venne per far prender cibo a Davide, mentre era ancora giorno. Ma Davide giurò, e disse: Così mi faccia Iddio, e così aggiunga, se io assaggio pane, o cosa altra veruna, avanti che il sole sia tramontato.
And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
L’Eterno diede dunque a Israele tutto il paese che avea giurato ai padri di dar loro, e i figliuoli d’Israele ne presero possesso, e vi si stanziarono.

Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

Ed a’ quali giurò egli che non entrerebbero nel suo riposo, se non a quelli che furono increduli?
That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

Baderete di mettere in pratica tutti i comandi che oggi vi dò, perché viviate, diveniate numerosi ed entriate in possesso del paese che il Signore ha giurato di dare ai vostri padri
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Ricordati invece del Signore tuo Dio perché Egli ti dà la forza per acquistare ricchezze, al fine di mantenere, come fa oggi, l'alleanza che ha giurata ai tuoi padri
This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
Faremo loro questo: li lasceremo vivere e così non ci sarà su di noi lo sdegno, a causa del giuramento che abbiamo loro prestato
